Makere Ruka Te Korako, 2008 Nautilus Book Award Silver Award winner for “Whispers of Waitaha: Traditions of a Nation,” a book of the Grandmothers Stories of Waitaha, will be appearing at the Outlook Inn on Friday, Aug. 28.
Te Korako will speak about her 2007 journey to Turtle Island which fulfilled a prophecy of the Waitaha Nation, thousands of years old.
Her books will be available for sale at the presentation at 7:30 p.m. at the Outlook Inn, in Eastsound. Admission is by donation.
