— from Washington State Ferries —

The fifth and sixth stops in our series of public meetings with local Ferry Advisory Committees took several WSF staff and Executive Team members to Anacortes and the San Juan Islands this week. Similar to our earlier meetings, we presented information and answered questions about general ferry topics like proposed changes to fares and the implementation of our 2040 Long Range Plan.

About 50 people attended our meeting on Orcas Island last night. Nearly 30 people came to our meeting in Anacortes Tuesday evening.

San Juan Islands residents will have another opportunity to comment on proposed changes to fares at a Washington State Transportation Commission (WSTC)-hosted meeting in Friday Harbor on Wednesday, May 29 from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. at the San Juan County Council Hearing Room (55 2nd St. N.). The WSTC is an appointed board who sets fares and fare policies for WSF. The meeting will include a brief presentation by WSF staff and the opportunity to provide comment. It will be streamed live on the San Juan County website.
