If you wandered into Eastsound today, you may have noticed a sailboat that wandered into East Sound today.
As the Sassafras waits patiently on jackstands for a tide change to take it back to sea, the owner, wandering somewhere around town in a reportedly orange hoodie, could not be located by Orcas Issues.
Alas…sometimes this happens.

Betcha it didn’t “just happen”
Thank you, Lynn. Great photo!
A big kudos to Ian and Dominick of West Sound Marina who came out on a holiday to get jack stands under the boat to better support it, waded out into chest deep water to set another anchor, then returned at near high tide to retrieve the jack stands and get the boat off the beach.
Reminds me of an original, local song by The Island City Jazz Band from many years ago, ” Elwha On The Rocks” !!!
I thought it was an old island cleaning the bottom job, which isn’t legal anymore..
Happy sailing.
