A deputy responded to a report of a protection order violation that occurred in Eastsound. An investigation is currently being conducted and a report was written.
17-003607 Welfare Check 17:55:15 06/21/17
A Deputy conducted a welfare check on Orcas Island. Everything checked ok. A report was written.
17-003615 Overdose 22:30:59 06/21/17
A Deputy responded to a Lopez Island residence for a potential overdose incident involving an emotionally upset juvenile. A counselor was called and a follow up plan was made. It was determined the juvenile was not an immediate harm to himself or others and he was left in the care of his parents.

Deputies responded to a report of shots fired. Deputies contacted a male subject who had just shot a raccoon that tried to attack the occupant of the residence. The resident opened the door to investigate his garbage can that was knocked over and the animal came after the male at the door.
17-003625 Theft 09:50:53 06/22/17
A Friday Harbor store owner reported a theft from their business. They have records that show the suspect is from Mt. Vernon. A report was taken and a probable cause statement will be prepared, so that an arrest warrant can be issued.
17-003627 Unwanted Person 12:03:50 06/22/17
In Friday Harbor a wanted person was seen at the John Linde Ball Fields on Carter Ave. He was contacted in the restroom and fought with the deputies. He was arrested and booked into jail, pending a court hearing.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a business for a subject making bizarre statements. The subject was contacted and found not to be a danger to self or others.
17-003634 Property Damage, Non Vandalism 14:34:43 06/22/17
A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a broken car window which occurred at Spencer Spit State Park. A report was taken.
17-003642 Abandoned Vehicle 18:30:54 06/22/17
An Orcas deputy responded to a report of a derelict sailboat on a derelict trailer parked illegally at the Obstruction Pass County Marine Facility. An investigation revealed who the owner may be. The investigation continues.
17-003647 Found Property 19:25:08 06/22/17
A Deputy received a report of a found ten foot dingy from a Lopez Island resident. The owner of the dingy was located and she made arrangements with vessel assist to retrieve her dingy and have it towed back to Friday Harbor.

An Orcas Island resident turned herself in at the Orcas Substation for an outstanding warrant. Bail posted and the subject was released with a court date.
17-003687 Malicious Mischief 18:58:40 06/23/17
A Deputy investigated a report of malicious mischief involving the unwanted trimming of brush along the roadway.
17-003691 Animal at Large 20:24:02 06/23/17
A deputy arrived in the area of Grover Street to investigate three dogs at large. The dog owner was contacted and advised of county ordinance.
17-003696 Burglary – Residential 22:35:39 06/23/17
A Deputy responded to an Eastsound resident’s report of a Residential Burglary. Upon arrival the Deputy was advised that cash was stolen from inside the house. Upon further investigation the Deputy observed no evidence of forced entry or evidence left behind. Information was taken and a report was made.

Deputies responded to an apartment in Friday Harbor to investigate a domestic dispute. Once on the scene they found a female that was pounding on the door but the male did not want contact. The female was escorted away by deputies

An Orcas Deputy responded to a vandalism call. Photographs were taken and a report written. No suspects at this time.
17-003721 Theft 17:54:55 06/24/17
Lopez deputies were dispatched to a residence for a reported theft of antique coins. The coins were located, and deputies helped mediate a dispute between deputies on the property.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a person that was intoxicated and was trying to drive. The Deputy talked to the intoxicated person and discovered that he was on conditions from the court to not be drinking. A report was sent to probation for the violation.
17-003729 Noise Complaint /not dogs 22:13:08 06/24/17
Deputies were investigating loud music on San Juan Island. The resident at this location delayed the termination of the amplified music and caused deputies to be tied up at his residence for several hours. A notice of infraction was issued.

A Lopez Island man reported his vehicle was damaged in a hit and run collision while parked at the Lopez Ferry Terminal since 06-22-17. A report was taken.
17-003753 DUI 16:33:24 06/25/17
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a DUI. The driver of the vehicle was contacted and was arrested for DUI.
17-003756 Accident-HitRun 17:57:27 06/25/17
A Deputy took a report of a hit and run incident. Witnesses reportedly saw a vehicle strike a parked vehicle on Orcas Island and continue without leaving information. The case is being investigated.

A Deputy was dispatched to a report of Harassment in Friday Harbor. An informational report was taken.

Lopez deputies were dispatched to a domestic dispute. Parties were separated and a report was taken for filing with the prosecutor’s office.

Money was left at an ATM and turned into the Sheriff’s Office along with
withdrawal receipt in an attempt to locate the owner.

An Orcas deputy responded to a report of a found wallet in Eastsound. It is suspected the wallet belongs to a tourist and ongoing attempts are being made to get it returned.

A citizen in Friday Harbor reported phone call from a sales person trying to sell insurance. The reporting party noticed that when they called the caller ID showed that it was one of their friends calling. This report is for information only.

An Orcas deputy arrested a local subject at the ferry terminal for two local warrants. The subjects was transported to the jail by patrol boat.

A Deputy received property from a Lopez Island resident. The property was found in the Lopez Village Market parking lot just before it was turned in. The Deputy is making attempts to locate the property owner.

An Orcas Island deputy received a call regarding a non-injury accident that had occurred in Moran State Park. The parties had swapped information and a report was taken.
