Saturday, June 30, events from 3:30 on at the Orcas Golf Club
From Justin Taylor
Come celebrate 50 years with the Orcas Island Golf Course!
We have recently received hundreds of pictures and news paper clippings. We now have the lost history from the early days of the Orcas Island Golf Club; thanks to the Blake sisters whose parents, Mary and Bob Senior, who opened the course in 1962.
The Club’s 50th Celebration will be held Saturday, June 30 with two golf events and a potluck on the clubhouse deck. Hamburgers and hot-dogs will be provided by the us. There will be a $5 entry for prizes, plus green fees for those that are not members.
Here’s the schedule:
3:30 p.m. 1st golf option: Four player team scramble — Play the best shot
5:00 p.m. Potluck Begins
Golfers playing in the second event can eat and watch the first golf players finish. Then when the first golfers finish they will be able to eat and watch the second tournament start.
6:00 p.m. 2nd golf option: Individual Competitive Tournament — Play the original course layout: Six of the nine holes play different than our current layout.
Sign up at the clubhouse.
