||| FROM DIDIER GINCIG for ORCAS ODD FELLOWS |||
On behalf of the Orcas Island Odd Fellows, thank you to everyone who participated in the annual Halloween Dance at the Odd Fellows Hall. Great fun was had by all. We’re thankful to all who attended; it was a really fun dance party!
As our community knows, the dance is a fundraiser for scholarships for graduating high school students. Much gratitude to the band—The Adrian XavierSka Island Experience—who entertained the crowd and set into dancing motion the many costumed people.
Thank you to all the folks who contributed towards the costume prizes: Aurora, Brown Bear, Clever Cow, Doe Bay Wine Company, Eastsound Liquor and Wine, Forest Ceramic, Lone Pine Larder, Monkey Puzzle, Patrick Stockstill, Shearwater Kayak Tours, and Sweetcraft Bakery.
Thank you so much to our sponsors who made this possible:
Buckbay Shellfish, Che Blaine, David and Geri Turnoy, Island Market, Michael Elder MFT, Mindplace, OrcasSong Farm, Terra Firma NW, The Little Farm, Wally Gudgell and Kevin Ranker, The Gudgell Group/Compass San Juan Islands.
Thank you to Gudgell Properties/Sea Star Lofts and Outlook Inn with lodging for the band.
We announced the winner of the wood raffle at intermission. Thanks to all who bought a wood raffle to raise funds for the scholarship awards. You’re all winners!
If you did not get a chance to attend the dance or get a wood raffle ticket but like the idea of awarding scholarships based on community involvement, kindness, and other similar attributes the Odd Fellows set as criteria for the scholarships, we would appreciate a donation by way of a check sent to the Odd Fellows PO Box 1286, Eastsound, WA 98245.
