||| FROM RON KREBS, CANDIDATE FOR SAN JUAN COUNTY SHERIFF |||
To the Citizens of San Juan County,
As we approach the upcoming election, I want to share my priorities for the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office and my commitment to the community we serve.
Having served as your Sheriff from 2015 to 2022, and with 19 years of experience in the Sheriff’s Office, I understand the challenges facing our organization. My priorities moving forward are straightforward: rebuilding our staffing, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and providing exceptional community-oriented public safety services.
Staffing and Recruitment
Our Sheriff’s Office faces significant staffing shortages that place additional demands on our employees and affect our ability to serve the community. Recruiting qualified, dedicated people will be a top priority. Equally important is retaining the good employees we already have by
providing strong leadership, clear direction, and a supportive workplace where people take pride in their work.
Fiscal Responsibility
San Juan County is facing serious financial challenges, and the Sheriff’s Office must do its part. I will closely examine our day-to-day operations to identify efficiencies, eliminate unnecessary expenses, and make the best use of our existing resources. My goal is to provide the highest
level of public safety services possible while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.
Community-Oriented Public Safety
The Sheriff’s Office exists to serve our citizens and visitors. I believe in visible, approachable, and professional law enforcement that builds trust through respect, accountability, and meaningful community relationships. Our residents deserve a Sheriff’s Office that is responsive, accessible, and committed to providing excellent service.
Looking Forward
These priorities will require hard work, cooperation, and experienced leadership. I believe in the dedicated men and women of our Sheriff’s Office and their ability to meet these challenges.
For four generations, my family has called San Juan County home. I care deeply about this community and the future of our Sheriff’s Office. My commitment is to lead with integrity, support our employees, respect our taxpayers, and always put the people of San Juan County first. Thank you for your continued trust and support.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. It will be an honor to serve as your Sheriff once again.

Here’s a polished version that keeps your warm, personal voice while tightening the flow, fixing the grammar, and making the endorsement land a bit more clearly:

I can’t say enough good things about Ron Krebs. He’s a genuine, community-minded peacemaker—not a tough-guy cop like the one we last elected.
I remember when Ron was still a beat cop, years before he became chief. The Sculpture Park donation box was getting robbed nearly every week. On his own time, late at night, Ron staked out the park until he caught the thief. He didn’t have to do that. He did it because he cares. That story has always stayed with me as a perfect example of his character.
I’m glad we have the chance to get him back. Please don’t mess this up—vote for Ron Krebs.

Ron Krebs is the real deal—a genuine community-minded peacemaker, not a tough-guy cop like the one we last elected. Years ago, when he was still a beat cop, he took it upon himself to stake out the Sculpture Park on his own time at night to catch the person who kept robbing the donation box. He didn’t have to do that. He did it because he cares. Let’s not mess this up—vote for Ron.
