GiveOrcas is now here

Giving season is officially here, and we hope you consider giving local with GiveOrcas! The annual holiday collective giving campaign is now open and runs through Thursday, December 11 at www.giveorcas.org. Today is also Giving Tuesday, a world-wide celebration of generosity. Every gift of $10 or more will make an impact and is deeply appreciated. 

We hope you join us later today at our GiveOrcas Holiday Party at Odd Fellows Hall, December 2 from 4-6pm. All are welcome to mix, mingle, and meet the 33 nonprofits taking part in Holiday GiveOrcas. Light bites, beer and wine, kids’ art activities, music, and lots of holiday cheer will be provided. We even have fun games planned that will give you a chance to win additional gifts for your favorite grantees!

Mark Your Calendars for Added Fun! 

• Unique Donor Day – Thursday, December 4: Grantees with the most individual donors will receive prizes from OICF: $1,000 1st place, $500 2nd place, $250 3rd place.

• Holiday Tree Lighting – Saturday, December 6: Join us at the Village Green for a chance to win additional donations for your favorite GiveOrcas nonprofits! We’ll be there spreading cheer alongside the Chamber of Commerce, with music, food, vendors, Santa & Mrs. Claus, beer and wine tent, and holiday cheer!

• FunDay Monday – December 8: Donors over the weekend of December 6-7 will be entered into a hat draw for $250 for a grantee of their choice.    

• Ben Franklin Day – December 10: Grantees with the most $100+ donations will receive from OICF: $1,000 1st place, $500 2nd place, $250 3rd place

• The Final Hours of Giving – December 11: Throughout the day, we’ll pick donors at random and boost their gift by $250! 

Together, we have the opportunity to fuel innovative solutions, amplify community-driven efforts, and ensure fundamental needs are met across our island. GiveOrcas is featured in the Shop the Rock Passport, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce! Visit participating shops, restaurants, and bars all over the island and you’ll earn a raffle entry for incredible prize packages. If you make a donation at www.giveorcas.org you’ll earn an additional entry to the raffle. That’s right, give local and you’ll double your chances to win!
