BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — The Coast Guard says a woman who jumped off the state ferry Chimacum during a Monday crossing was recovered and brought to St. Michael Medical Center in Bremerton.
The Kitsap Sun reports the woman was found in the water by two fishermen. They brought her to shore and she was taken to the hospital.
Officials say the woman was in stable condition. She told police that she had jumped from the ferry.
A Coast Guard search was kicked off in Rich Passage when ferry crew members found a backpack on the vessel. Security footage showed her going overboard at about 2 p.m.

Soo sad, that one gives up all hope. But hopefully new beginnings to this precious soul.
It’s the untold story of the pandemic. How many have died in the islands because of Covid? Zero. How many have died from suicide in part because of economic hardship? I know of at least two. How many in financial ruin? Countless. Our economy must be allowed to operate. Local and state gov must support those businesses and individuals who have been devastated by gov restrictions. Protocols not lockdowns!
Thank you, Dale, for speaking “sanity”, fear is the enemy. Some states’ leadership are encouraging that fear. Our country was founded by sovereign, intelligent, and courageous people. People can be controlled by fear, that fear can be manipulated by those who would lead us to our own compliance in the demise of our personal sovereignty. Please pray for that woman who tried to end her life, we are One.
Blessings to you All,
Spirit Eagle.
