Early returns from the County Elections office, at 8:22 p.m. on Tuesday,Nov. 4, indicate a healthy lead for Deputy Ron Krebs as County Sheriff, who tallied 3,372  votes, or 64.71%. Incumbent Sheriff Rob Nou had 1,839 votes, or 35.29%.

The Orcas Island School District Facilities and Technology Modernization Levy  received 926 votes or 62.57% of the vote.

San Juan County Proposition No. 1, (the San Juan County Six Year Levy Lid Lift replacement) garnered3,264 approving votes, or 60.28% of the ballots cast as of Tuesday evening

The closest county race recorded as of 8:22 p.m. election night was for County Treasurer. At that time, Rhonda Pederson had nearly 55% of the votes recorded, or 2,539 votes. Tony Fyrqvist followed with 45.13% of the vote, or 2,088.

County Clerk Joan White, incumbent, earned a 2-to-1 vote lead over Nancy Vejvoda (3,147 to 1,479 votes).

State Measures Initiative Measure No. 591 (due process for firearms sales and transfers) was rejected in San Juan County by 3,590 votes, or 65.55%)

State Measures Initiative Measure No. 594 (background checks for firearm sales and transfers) was approved by 3,810 county voters (68.59%.)

In State Measures, Initiative Measure No. 1351 (lower class sizes) won 3,038 votes, or 55.72% in San Juan County.

In national offices, District 2 Representative Rick Larsen holds a healthy lead of 67% of the county vote over his opponent B.J. Guillot.

In the state legislative races, Legislative District 40 State Representative Pos. 1, Kristine Lytton leads over opponent Daniel R. Miller by a 68% county approval vote.

Of the 11,985 registered Voters, 5,645 ballots were counted to inform the early vote results. The next report is scheduled at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m.
