Crews continue final removal of fill from the temporary bridge, while drivers get accustomed to the two-way traffic across the bridge.
The yellow shaded area in the rendering above shows the location of the now-demolished temporary road embankment and bridge, which was used to divert traffic during the demolition of the original Deer Harbor Bridge, shown in white. The permanent concrete bridge was then constructed on essentially the same footprint as the original wooden bridge, and provides a structurally sound solution that also enhances the local salmon habitat.
