Public Meetings on Lopez, Orcas and San Juan Islands
The Transportation Element, a vital element of the County’s Comprehensive Plan is being updated with new inventories, levels of service, and goals and policies. SJC code 18.60.200 concurrency regulations are also being updated.
Please come to a public meeting to learn more about the update and provide your input on the proposed goals and policies that are intended to guide development of, and investment in, the County’s transportation system.

Tuesday, March 12 – 11:30 am to 1:30 pm – Lopez Island Library

Wednesday, March 13 – 11:30 am to 1:30 pm – Orcas Fire District #2, Eastsound

Thursday, March 14 – 11:00 am to 1:00 pm – Key Bank Garden Rm, Friday Harbor
Comments received at these meetings will be incorporated into draft documents that will be considered at a future Planning Commission public hearing.

Worth attending. The proposal discusses adding new taxes (gas, auto reg.) and new taxing districts. Also seeks to move away from Scenic Roads Manual and use urban standards for road design, including bike lanes.
