I know it’s kind of last minute, but I wanted to alert you to a fund-raising concert coming up on Thursday, October 9. The Orcas Island trio CCM (Cali Bagby, Carl Burger, and Marc Cohen) will be appearing at Random Howse (7-9 pm), along with special guests Grace McCune, Stormy Hildreth, and Corey Wiscomb. It’s a free concert (no cover charge), and all proceeds from the “tip jars” on the tables will go to a non-profit in Haiti (Helping Hands Noramise in Haiti).
There will also be collection jars in various businesses around town (beginning October 8) to support this charity.
Orcas Island musicians Cali Bagby, Carl Burger, and Marc Cohen have joined forces to form the vocal trio CCM. The group is rooted in traditional American folk music, but offers an eclectic mixture of musical genres including ballads, blues, country, jazz, rock, and the music of contemporary singer-songwriters. Blending three-part harmonies with guitar (6- and 12-string), micro-bass, and ukulele, CCM offers both original tunes as well as their own interpretations of the work of master musicians. At a CCM concert, you never know what’s coming next!
