Catalog of History, Art and Travel for Aug. 30 Auction now available online
— by Margie Doyle —
The catalog is out, and the reservation date has been extended so that more can take part in the historic auction, “An Orcas Family: 130 Years and Counting.”
Island publishers Keith Whitaker and Marian O’Brien have assembled a 41-page catalog of the 100-plus items to be auctioned on August 30 at the Youngren’s Barn. They have also called upon the experts at Stuteville Antiques of Seattle, and the online prowess of Paula Treneer to estimate the value range of the items, based on similar auctions.
Lance Evans will be auctioneer at the event, from 5 to 10 p.m.
Tickets to the event, which will include food and wine provided by Christina Orchid, are $50 per person, and some are still available. Send a check for $50 per person to Jan Koltun, PO Box 77, Eastsound WA, 98245, call 376-3394 or email jansound@rockisland.com
