Blustery January weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of participants in the Orcas Women’s March on Saturday, January 20. Nearly 100 women gathered at Waterfront Park to march in solidarity with other women across the country.
The protest marches were held on the one-year anniversary of the Donald Trump inauguration, which coincided with the first-day of a government shutdown.

Nearly 100 women AND men…
Yes, women, men, children, teens and dogs!!! Thanks to all who braved the blustery day and joined us on the streets and at the Village Green. Our Sister March resonated with Actions across the world. We are Fired Up & Ready to Go! 2018 will be a year of committed actions to social justice, Women’s Rights, Immigrants Rights and electing politicians that will represent the true interests of our citizens.
And thank you, Orcas Issues, for letting folks know about our spontaneous March! Our Community News keeps everyone informed!
Yes! Thanks – I wouldn’t have known … made it and it felt so good to see it the women – and all the men – and to stand together hearing the spontaneous and heat-felt calls to action. There is so much to be done.
