AlmostClassicalDuring their upcoming Holiday breaks from school, the Orcas Island trio Almost Classical will appear at Darvill’s Bookstore in Eastsound on December 22 and at Random Howse on December 29.

These will be the ensemble’s first performances together since Lisa Carter and Emy Carter began studying at the Conservatory of Music at BIOLA University in Los Angeles. Paris Wilson is a freshman at Orcas Island High School.

At Darvill’s on Tuesday, December 22 at 2 p.m., the trio will play holiday favorites from their recently released Christmas CD, Almost Classical Christmas, featuring Lisa Carter on piano and Celtic harp and Emy Carter and Paris Wilson on violin. The CD is now available at Darvill’s.

At Random Howse on Tuesday, December 29, Almost Classical will present an after-Christmas “pop” concert. The doors will open at 5 p.m. with Random Howse’s tasty Thai food and drinks on tap from 5 to 8 p.m. The music starts at 6:30 p.m. There is no cover charge, but the musicians are compensated by your donations to the tip jars. All ages are welcome. Almost Classical’s Christmas CD will be available for purchase, but this concert will chiefly feature the group’s own arrangements of their favorite pop songs.
