— from Kathleen Youngren —

Opening: Friday, July  5, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Orcas Center

After graduating from the California Art Center College of Design, Leon Rosenblatt began working as an artist and illustrator in Los Angeles, Miami and in New York, commissioned by clients such as RCA Records, the National Lampoon Magazine, Random House Publishing, Ace Pocket Books, Penthouse Magazine, and others. His paintings for Random House and The National Lampoon Magazine were honored by the National Society of Illustrators.

“REMNANTS from the Future,” Leon’s latest series of paintings will be on display at Orcas Center throughout the month of July.  They are large oil and acrylic canvases that evoke the past as viewed from our not so distant “future.” The rendered paintings depict surfaces that contain fossils and imprints both ancient, as well as recognizable man-made objects, from the 21st Century.

Everyone is invited to the Opening Reception: Friday, July  5, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Please come, meet the artist, and hear his presentation at 6 p.m.
