The Orcas Island Public Library is looking for a few good volunteers to work the front desk and shelve materials.
This involves a three- hour shift once a week. Complete training and supervision is provided for beginners.
The library is a great place to meet our diverse community, with the added bonus of being able to see new materials as soon as they arrive! If you are able to stand for at least 3 hours, lift up to 20 pounds, and able to reach top and bottom shelves in the stacks, this may be the job for you.
Interested? Please contact Volunteer Supervisor Kathleen Lunde at the Library by phoning 376-4985, or by email, klunde@orcaslibrary.org.

Volunteering at the library is the most rewarding thing I have done on Orcas. Not only did I get to work with Fritz, but meeting the library patrons, all shapes, sizes and ages, has reinforced my reason for loving Orcas: the caring, literate, friendly assorted communities. The library is the best of its’ community size that I have ever seen, and the staff involved and hardworking. Phil, Kathy, Holly, Nita, Mary, Tony…thanks for the opportunity..
Get involved, help the library help our readers!
