Monday, May 6, 6 p.m. or Saturday, May 11, 3 p.m., Orcas School Library
— from Orcas Island School District —
Families who plan to enroll their kindergarten-aged children in first grade this fall in the Orcas Island School District (OISD) are urged to attend one of two informational meetings in the school library. The first meeting will be on Monday, May 6 at 6 p.m. and the second will be on Saturday, May 11 at 3 p.m.
Each meeting will last about one hour and provide a brief overview of all three public-school options for first-graders: 1) Orcas Island Elementary School (OIES), 2) the new Montessori Public, formerly known as the Montessori classroom, and 3) OASIS (Orcas Alternative Student Initiated School).
Teachers and administrators will be on-hand to help parents decide, or begin to decide, which school is the best fit for their child.
