Student Art Show at the Orcas Art Center The annual Student Art Show through the month of April will feature the work of kindergarten through 12th grade students from all the island’s schools. The show’s festive Opening Reception will take place from 4 to 7;30 pm. Jean Henigson’s Orcas Elementary School dancers will perform at 4 pm, followed by Orcas music teacher Pamela Wright’s Middle School, High School and Ceolina String Ensembles from 4:30 to 5:30. High School students will be performing informally from 6  to 7:30 pm.

Crewfeast 2011 Annual Dinner Join Orcas Island Rowing Club for a Very Fun Time at the Club’s Annual Dinner at Camp Orkila Lodge from 6 to 9 p.m. Gene Nery & Martin Lund will entertain you with fantastic music. Academy Chamber Orchestra at Orcas Center The premier Northwest youth chamber orchestra on Center Stage at 7:30 p.m.  Still the premier youth chamber orchestra in the Northwest, ACO returns to Orcas with some of the most gifted young musicians in the region. San Juan County Economic Development Council’s 2011 Economic Forecast Luncheon. The event will feature Arun Raha, Chief State Economist  and Executive Director of the Economic and Revenue Forecast Council. Local economic experts representing industries such as banking and real estate will also be in attendance. Raha is responsible for preparation and presentation of quarterly forecasts of Washington’s economy and general fund revenues. He also advises state legislative committees and other government agencies regarding economic and revenue activity in the state.

The luncheon will be at the Friday Harbor House, San Juan Island at 130 West Street, Friday Harbor.
