First Annual Chili Cook-off & Extreme Croquet Tourney for MS  Backyard croquet tourney, moose burger barbecue, and four local chefs pit their chili-cooking genius against each other: Everett Brooks of Fire; Bill Patterson of Chimayo; Mia Kartiganer of Mia’s; and Lisa Crowe of The Lower Tavern.  For a suggested donation of $10, you can share the chili, the moose burgers, along with all the fixings. Live Music at Doe Bay Cafe , from 6 to 8 p.m. Northwest songwriter, musician and producer John Nelson has been writing, recording and performing solo and in various ensembles for the last 4 decades.  “The self taught musician, who has been playing guitar for nearly four decades, is a composer who brings an array of musical tastes, from rock to world beat, to jazz and folk to his work”. – SeattleTimes.  Seating is limited so call the café for reservations, 376-8059.

Celebration of Life of Monique Gincig at the Odd Fellows Hall, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Viva South America! in Deer Harbor! wine-tasting from Chile and Argentina. The $35 admission provides tastes of ten different red, white, rose, and dessert wines, local and international tapas, and a special event wine glass. Music by Gene Nery will accompany the event, with an exhibition of tango dancing. The tasting is being held to raise funds to help retire the debt incurred in saving the Deer Harbor Post Office.  There will also be a limited auction of great gifts such as hotel stays, cruises in local waters.  Deer Harbor Community Center on Deer Harbor Road from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Country Corner Cellar shop.  A very limited amount will be available at the door.
