Orcas Choral Society Winter Concert,“Joyous Sounds of Christmas” concerts at 2 p.m. at the Orcas Center. The program of seasonal music features “Magnificat” by John Rutter as well as familiar carols, songs from other times and cultures, caroling with the audience, and a wide variety of instrumental accompaniment. Montessori Candlight Spiral Walk, at 3 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall. The entire community is invited to join in this event which will be hosted by the Orcas Montessori School, the Salmonberry School and the School of the Salish Sea. Free, Donations to Food Bank accepted.

Growth Management Hearings Board meets to consider arguments from the County and from John Campbell regarding the complaint that “affordable housing” is not adequately considered in the County’s Land Supply Element of the Growth Management Act. At the Eastound Fire Hall at10 a.m.
Holiday Soup & Chili Supper beginning at 5:30 p.m., prepared by the Orcas Center Board of Trustees in the Madrona Room, prior to the opening night performance of A Christmas Carol, which benefits The Funhouse.The Soup & Chili Supper includes a choice of chili with meat, minestrone with chicken or vegetarian minestrone; salad; roll or chips; hot cider or apple juice; and dessert. $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Wine is also available for sale. Dinner proceeds benefit the Orcas Center.
