— from the San Juan Islands Conservation District–

The San Juan Islands Conservation District would like to present OPALCO’s Community Solar Project.

The project opened for member participation on March 21st and, to date, we have about 85% of the units committed. However, we may not have heard from you, yet.

If you are still thinking about it – NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT! OPALCO expects to reach 100% following our Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 21st.  The window for member participation in this project may close as soon as Monday, April 23rd. Click on the image or this link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKPmTj8DOJ0)to watch a quick explanation of how Community Solar works.

Why not wait for a future project? The 2018 project has been pre-certified by the Washington State Renewable Energy System Incentives Program, which helps reduce the simple payback for investors. OPALCO continues to advocate for legislation that is favorable to local distributed power, but cannot guarantee future State incentives.

If you have questions, please call or come see us! Use the solar calculator on OPALCO’s website (www.opalco.com/solar) to explore what type of participation makes best sense for you. And, in any case, please encourage your friends and neighbors to JOIN THE MOVEMENT.

You can sign up online at www.opalco.com/solar, or come into OPALCO’s member service offices in Eastsound and Friday Harbor to pick up a paper participation form. The Community Solar team is available at 360-376-3500 to help you with the form over the phone – or come to our annual meeting on the ferry this Saturday(April 21st). We’re on the morning interisland ferry this year; click here for travel schedule.

Here comes the Sun!
