A Deputy was informed of hit and run on Orcas. A report was taken and there are no suspects at this time.

A Lopez Island deputy was called regarding a reported citizen dispute at a Lopez Island business. After speaking with the involved parties, there was no evidence of a crime and everyone went on with their day.

A vessel was found on the West Sound county dock over night. The vessel was issued an infraction.

A Lopez deputy assisted returning an elderly man with dementia to his home after an unintentionally long walk.
17-006749 Theft 17:46:37 09/21/17
An Orcas Deputy responded to a Theft of a bicycle in Eastsound at the Christian School. While typing the report a witness saw a male riding the stolen bike & called dispatch. The responding Deputy arrived, arrested the male for Theft & Possession of Heroin & returned the bicycle to the complainant.

A deputy made contact with a dog owner about having his dog housed in a car in front of his residence. The dog had water and food and was not being neglected.
17-006757 Accident-NonInj 22:02:07 09/21/17
A Deputy was dispatched to an accident with no injuries on Orcas. After an investigation was completed the driver at fault was arrested for DUI.

A deputy was dispatched to a local business to investigate a report of the company business line being used falsely. Investigation in progress.
17-006763 Trespassing 10:23:14 09/22/17
A deputy took a report of a trespasser at a local business. The trespasser was contacted and advised not to return.
17-006769 Mental Health 16:38:41 09/22/17
Deputies received information about a possibly suicidal teen age girl. A search was initiated. She was located at Jackson Beach and was found to have taken an overdose of pills. She was transported to Peace Island and then airlifted to the mainland.
17-006770 Assault – Body Force 17:31:23 09/22/17
Friday Harbor deputies went to a possible assault. Both parties said the other person attacked them. They said it was over stolen property and each accused the other of the thefts. Neither of their ‘witnesses’ would give a statement. The parties were advised to separate and work it out tomorrow.
17-006772 Theft 18:17:26 09/22/17
A deputy was dispatched to a Vehicle Prowl in the Friday Harbor area. The caller reported that his vessel had been entered and several items were missing. Investigation continues.
17-006775 Wanted Person 20:23:59 09/22/17
An Orcas Deputy made verbal contact with a male with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The male accompanied the Deputy to the substation where he posted bail and was given a new date to appear in court. Report made.
17-006776 Assault – Aggravated 20:51:20 09/22/17
An Orcas Deputy responded to an Aggravated Assault call at Moran State Park. The suspect was located and arrested for Assaulting a Park Ranger and for two out of county warrants. Report made and case forwarded to Prosecutor’s office.

A Roche Harbor resident called to report another incident in a long running property dispute. This time the neighbor had cut down fence posts to gain access to the beach. As this property is in dispute in court, a report and photographs were taken for possible use in court.
17-006797 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 16:56:58 09/23/17
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to check on a possible trespass on private property. A suspect vehicle was located on the site, but no one was found in/around the vehicle. Investigation continues.
17-006799 Abandoned Vehicle 18:48:17 09/23/17
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to check on a possibly abandoned vehicle left in a private driveway. The vehicle was gone when the deputy arrived. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary on the property.
17-006800 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 19:42:02 09/23/17
A deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Suspicious Circumstance. The reporting deputy contacted the caller and a report was taken.
17-006804 Theft 20:50:33 09/23/17
A Seattle couple reported the theft of two rented bicycles from outside a Lopez Island business. The bicycles were reportedly locked together when they were taken.
17-006806 Vehicle on Fire 21:55:04 09/23/17
A Lopez Island deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding, and then had to call the fire department as the violator’s vehicle appeared to catch fire. The smoke was caused by a mechanical malfunction. The driver was warned for speed, and the vehicle was secured in place.

An Orcas Deputy cited two vessels for overnight mooring at the “Day Use Only” West Sound County Dock.
17-006814 Domestic Dispute or Assault 06:32:17 09/24/17
Lopez deputies responded to a residence for a possible domestic disturbance. No crimes were alleged and parties agreed to separate for the morning.
17-006815 Citizen Dispute 07:10:45 09/24/17
A deputy was dispatched to a Citizen Dispute in the San Juan Island area. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved parties. Informational report taken.

An Orcas Island Deputy made contact with a local man in the WSF holding lines. The man was subsequently issued an infraction for driving without a valid operator’s license.

A vessel was found on the West Sound county dock overnight. The vessel was issued an infraction.
17-006845 Accident-NonInj 21:01:52 09/24/17
Orcas Deputies responded to a possible accident on Raccoon Pt Rd. Deputies found both parties along with one of the vehicles GOA and one possibly involved vehicle legally parked off the roadway. An information report was completed.

An Orcas Deputy responded to a Harassment call in Eastsound. Upon investigation the Deputy found the alleged suspects GOA and no tangible evidence that any crime occurred. An information report was taken at the request of the caller.
17-006857 DUI 12:30:32 09/25/17
A Deputy responded to a report of a Drunk Driver heading towards Eastsound from the Ferry Landing. The suspect vehicle was located and stopped. Further investigation revealed probable cause to arrest the driver for Driving Under the Influence and for an active warrant.

A Lopez deputy took a report of a possible squatter. An information report was taken.
17-006860 Weapon Safekeeping 14:24:08 09/25/17
The owner of two weapons (rifles) turned them into the Sheriff’s Office to be destroyed or sold by law.

A deputy investigated vandalism to vehicles that were parked in Friday Harbor.

A Deputy on Orcas took a report of an apparent mail theft in which a package was removed from the mailbox at a residence in Eastsound. The case is under further investigation.

Father attempting to return infant child to Mother but she would not answer door. Resolved once deputies arrived.
17-006886 Theft 22:37:30 09/26/17
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a reported mail theft. A report was taken, the investigation is ongoing.
