A Lopez Island man reported that his computer was attacked by a virus that was attached to an e-mail. A report was taken.

16-007016 Impounded Vehicle 14:52:57 09/14/16
While patrolling the Eastsound area Deputies located an abandoned vehicle. Deputies removed the vehicle and a report was completed.

A teacher from the Paideia School was complaining about the next door dog barking at the children when the go out for recess. Teacher said she has posted a note on their door to see if they come some sort of agreement. No Law Enforcement action taken.

16-007046 Harassment 12:23:39 09/15/16
A Deputy responded to a call about Cyber Stalking in Eastsound. Statements were given and a report was taken. The case is ongoing.

16-007047 Unwanted Person 12:28:17 09/15/16
A Deputy was dispatched to an unwanted person in Friday Harbor, the unwanted person left before the Deputy’s arrival. The business is drawing up a letter of Trespass to be served on that individual. No Further.

Same complaint as Paideia School, they are going to attempt to contact neighbor also.

16-007051 Found Property 16:58:12 09/15/16
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a found property complaint on Mud Bay Road, Lopez Island. The Deputy located the property owner and returned the property to them. A report was completed.

16-007053 Theft 18:10:24 09/15/16
A Friday Harbor resident called to report theft of medications. She said while visiting friends a week ago she indulged in drug use and believes the friends stole her medication while she was high. She has no other evidence at this time. Investigation continues.

16-007057 Mental Health 21:20:49 09/15/16
Deputies in Friday Harbor received a report of a disturbance or possible assault. It was determined that one of the people involved was having some mental problems. The incident was settled by contact.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched to a single vehicle vs. fence collision on Port Stanley Road. The vehicle was unoccupied, but the driver was located later. The driver was cited for Negligent Driving 2nd degree.

16-007066 Death Investigation 10:10:00 09/16/16
A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a report of CPR in progress. The victim suffered an apparent cardiac arrest and passed away despite lifesaving measures administered by Lopez EMS.

16-007067 Fraud 10:57:28 09/16/16
An Eastsound resident reported being the victim of an online loan fraud from New York, a report was completed.

16-007069 Trespassing 12:04:46 09/16/16
A Deputy was dispatched to unwanted persons in Friday Harbor. Upon the arrival of the Deputy both individuals left and were instructed not to return. Settled by Contact.

16-007074 Malicious Mischief 15:13:59 09/16/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a malicious mischief. It was reported that someone had spray painted a sign on the victims property with spray paint. Currently there are no suspects.

16-007076 Civil Problem 16:13:37 09/16/16
A Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound construction site in regards to the theft of a portable toilet. No suspects known. A Report was taken.

16-007079 Burglary – Residential 18:18:35 09/16/16
A Deputy responded to a residential burglary call in Eastsound. There is no suspect and there was no evidence found at the scene.

16-007086 Traffic Stop 23:40:03 09/16/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy conducted a late night traffic stop. Further investigation revealed there was probable cause that the driver was driving under the influence. The male was arrested, processed and released with a promise to appear in court. His vehicle was impounded under WA state law.

Deputies were dispatched to the Orcas station reference a child custody matter. Deputies conducted an initial investigation, contacted all parties involved and resolved the matter. A report was completed for documentation.

16-007100 Court Order Violation 14:37:12 09/17/16
A Lopez Island deputy filed a report on a Violation of a Domestic Violence No Contact Order that had occurred the previous day.

16-007102 Animal at Large 15:20:17 09/17/16
A Lopez Island deputy took a pit bull mix dog into custody after the dog was running at large and followed joggers home. The dog was friendly, but did not offer to go home on its own. The dog had no tags. The owner claimed the dog at the kennel a few hours later. The owner received a warning.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched to a single vehicle vs tree collision. The driver was unhurt and not determined to be under the influence. Investigation continues.

16-007124 Trespassing 05:22:07 09/18/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy responded to a report that a naked man had entered an occupied, unlocked home on Orcas Island. The man was found on a neighbors deck. The man was reportedly impaired on drugs. He was medically cleared and released to the care of a relative.

16-007130 Animal at Large 10:36:30 09/18/16
Deputies were dispatched to an Eastsound business reference a dog at large. The friendly dog was running around the downtown area. Deputies transported the dog to the shelter. No further action was required.

16-007137 Accident-HitRun 14:22:50 09/18/16
An Eastsound resident reported minor damage to his vehicle at Doe Bay, by an unknown vehicle.

16-007140 Vehicle Prowl 15:11:10 09/18/16
A vehicle window was broken and a purse taken from a vehicle at the south Turtleback trailhead on Orcas Island. The investigation continues.

16-007143 Vehicle Prowl 17:42:04 09/18/16
A visitor reported the theft of items from their unlocked vehicle in the Orcas ferry line. There were no witnesses.

16-007144 Assault – Body Force 18:08:34 09/18/16
A deputy was contacted by the victims at the Sheriff’s Office to report an Assault that occurred in the San Juan Island area. The victims provided a written statement on the incident. A report was taken and forwarded to the proper department.

A Lopez Island deputy was called to a Lopez Village business about an abandoned bicycle. A bag of personal property was scattered around the bicycle which was locked into the bike rack. The loose property was taken for safekeeping.

16-007159 Theft 10:50:26 09/19/16
A Friday Harbor resident removed an item from the Friday Harbor Pharmacy without paying. An employee contacted us and the subject was later identified and admitted to “accidentally” taking the item. The subject was trespassed from the store and the manager did not press charges.

Deputies responded to the Ferry landing reference a traffic collision. When Deputies arrived and all parties were contacted it was determined it was non-reportable collision. A report was completed for documentation purposes.

16-007168 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 13:15:38 09/19/16
A Deputy responded to a property on Mitchell Bay Road reference pieces of a truck dumped at that property. The pieces are related to a stolen vehicle from Snohomish County. Case is active at this time.

16-007175 Animal at Large 17:36:26 09/19/16
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to the school on a report of a brown boxer running at large. The dog was located at the baseball field. A man who claimed to be dog sitting said he thought the dog would remain in the are while he played tennis. The dog was then secured in the man’s car.

16-007179 Traffic Stop 21:09:57 09/19/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy conducted a traffic stop in Eastsound for an expired registration. The driver was found to have a Revoked Driver’s License out of Colorado. The driver was cited and released with a promise to appear in court. The vehicle was impounded.

16-007191 Assault – Body Force 10:27:57 09/20/16
A student from Friday Harbor High School was reported for assaulting another student and attempting to assault a teacher. The juvenile was taken into custody and juvenile services was contacted.

16-007193 Sick or Injured Animal 11:13:27 09/20/16
A Lopez deputy along with Fire-Rescue crews were sent to rescue an
injured dog that had fallen off a cliff on Upright Head. Two civilian rescuers
were helped back to safety by responders. The dog suffered a broken leg and was
rescued by others from the water side. No humans were injured.

16-007201 Traffic Stop 16:31:14 09/20/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy recognized a male driver who had a Suspended Drivers License in the 3rd degree. Contact was made with the driver who was cited with a criminal citation for Driving While License Suspended in the 3rd degree. The vehicle was impounded with a 30 day hold under WA State Law.

16-007202 Missing Person 16:49:07 09/20/16
Lopez Island Deputies responded, along with Fire and EMS personnel, to a missing
person complaint in the 3000 block of Fisherman Bay Road. The missing person was reported to be suffering from dementia. The missing person, who was unharmed, was quickly located and returned home.

16-007204 Accident-HitRun 17:37:13 09/20/16
A Lopez Island Deputy investigated a possible hit and run. The witness stated she believed an unidentified vehicle struck an unoccupied vehicle, which was parked in the 3300 block of Fisherman Bay Road. The owner of the damaged vehicle declined filing a formal complaint.
