On 10-28-15 at 0355 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a death investigation. The death appeared to be from natural causes.
15-006403 Sick or Injured Animal 15:30:27 10/28/15
Deputies responded to residence on San Juan Island to investigate a report of a dog being shot and injured.
15-006411 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 23:22:42 10/28/15
On 10-28-15 at 2322 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a suspicious circumstance in the harbor. It was reported that a person was yelling and screaming and revving up his boat engine.

Complainant received a call on his answering machine today at 1151 hours from a man who said he was calling from the IRS, accusing him of tax evasion. He erased the call but said the caller ID was from Crystal River, FL, phone #352-453-5718. He called to let us know just in case we are keeping track.

On 10-29-15 at 2106 hours Deputies in Friday Harbor received a report of a domestic. The investigation showed that the two parties involved were having a verbal argument.

On 10-29-15 at 2332 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a domestic. The investigation showed that it was not a domestic.

On 10/30/15, a deputy was notified that a citizen turned in a wallet at the Orcas Island Fire Department. The wallet was collected and booked into property at the Orcas Substation.
15-006445 Fraud 15:24:30 10/30/15
On 10-30-2015, This Deputy received a report of possible fraud. The reporting party stated he found an unauthorized charge on his bank account so he closed it. He was advised to put a Fraud alert on his credit report by contacting the credit reporting agencies.

On 10-30-15 at 1900 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an order violation. This case is still under investigation.

15-006456 Burglary – Residential 08:32:07 10/31/15
On the morning of 10-31-2015, this Deputy responded to a business in Friday Harbor to investigate a report of a burglary. Sometime during the night or early morning, an unknown person gained entry into the building and stole cash and checks. There was no forcible entry.
15-006458 Found Property 11:18:32 10/31/15
October 31, a Lopez Island woman reported finding a rifle in a roadside ditch. The responding deputy located a BB rifle, which was taken for safekeeping.
15-006465 Harassment 15:09:12 10/31/15
On the afternoon of 10-31-2015, I initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for illegal tint on the driver’s window. I subsequently arrested the male driver for DUI. The traffic stop and arrest occurred within the Town of Friday Harbor.

On 11/1/15 a deputy was dispatched to a dispute in Eastsound, parties were separated.
15-006475 Accident-NonInj 09:31:33 11/01/15
On 11/01/15 a vehicle was found unoccupied off the roadway but partially blocking the lane of travel in the area of Boyce Rd and San Juan Valley Rd. in Friday Harbor. We attempted to contact the owner with negative results. The vehicle was then towed from the roadway and impounded.

On 11/01/15 and 11/02/15 the protected person of a restraining order was contacted via text and voicemail repeatedly by the restrained party. The contacts were full of profanity and threats to the protected person. This incident occurred in Friday Harbor, WA.

On 11-2-15 at 1939 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a welfare check on Point Caution Rd. The Deputy observed that the person in question was fine.

On 11-3-15 at 1913 hours Deputies in Friday Harbor received a report of a domestic on Paradise Rd. The investigation showed that the parties involved her having a verbal argument and no assault occurred.

On 11-3-15 at 2053 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor followed up on a trespass complaint in Pear Point Rd. at the gravel pit. It had been reported that people have been sleeping in their cars in the parking lot.

On 11-3-15 at 2143 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a barking dog on Spyglass Hill Rd. The owner of the dog was contacted and was talked to about his barking dog.

On the morning of 11-04-2015, I cited a female driver in the Town of Friday Harbor for driving with a suspended driver’s license in the third degree. Her license had been suspended in 2013 for an unpaid traffic fine.

November 4, a ferry crew and ferry terminal employees reported a disruptive passenger interfered with the unloading a ferry at the Lopez Island terminal.

On the afternoon of 11-05-2015, this Deputy conducted a traffic stop within the Town of Friday Harbor. The Driver of the vehicle was talking on his cell phone while driving. I issued him a traffic infraction for using a cell phone while driving.

On 11/05/15, an Orcas deputy responded to a report of fraud at an Eastsound bank. It was determined the client’s checks were used fraudulently by a known suspect. Investigation continues.

On 11-05 a San Juan Island victim called to report a neighbors dog had killed one of his chickens, in his yard. The neighbor was already making arrangements for compensation with the chicken owner. Dog was photographed and I.D.’ed. Report filed and passed on to Animal Control.

On 11-05 a roaming dog took a rabbit from another persons property. Dog owner was found and contacted and is making arrangements for compensation with the rabbit owner. Report filed and passed on to Animal Control.
15-006568 Citizen Dispute 19:14:46 11/06/15
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a citizen dispute complaint on 11/06/15. There was no evidence of an assault between the involved parties. One of the involved persons, who was not located, had a warrant for his arrest for domestic violence assault. Attempts to locate the wanted male will be on-going.

On 11-7-15 at 0053 hours A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a suspicious circumstance. This incident is still under investigation.
15-006575 Animal at Large 07:50:06 11/07/15
On 11-07 a San Juan Island man reported he was walking his dog. A neighbor had left his gate open and the neighbors dogs came out and attacked his dog. The dogs were separated and the injured dog taken to the vet. Suspect dogs and owner were contacted, dogs photographed and the county dog ordinances were discussed.
15-006576 Burglary,NonRes 08:19:19 11/07/15
On 11-07 at approx. 0800 a Friday Harbor business owner reported a burglary attempt on a storage shed. The locking plate was bent and a lattice damaged, but no entry made or items stolen. Evening deputies were advised to be on watch. Investigation continues.
15-006581 Domestic Dispute or Assault 10:08:51 11/07/15
On 11-07 at approx. 1008 deputies were dispatched to a possible domestic in town. The parties were contacted and it was found to be verbal only, but very loud. The parties were calmed down and agreed to separate for the afternoon. They were advised of DV laws and available counseling and assistance.

A Lopez Island Deputy conducted a welfare check on persons standing outside a parked vehicle along Fisherman Bay Road on 11/07/15. It was determined the vehicle driver stopped after his intoxicated passenger became nauseous. No medical attention was requested and the Deputy continued with his patrol duties.

In Friday Harbor On 11-08-15 a property owner found a person had entered a cabin on their property and was passed out inside. The subject was contacted in the bed and arrested and booked into jail.
15-006595 Burglary-Res 11:36:14 11/08/15
On 11-08 a Friday Harbor contractor reported tools stolen from a job site. Today he arrived and found the house unlocked. He went in and found his tool belt and Chicago Electric compressor missing. The scene was examined and investigation continues.

On 11/08/15 parking infractions were issued to vehicles parked over the 72 hour limit at the Obstruction Pass county dock.

November 8, a Lopez Island family reported a possible car prowl of their vehicle parked in front of their home on Lopez Island. The car alarm was set off, probably scaring the intruders away.

On the evening of 11-08-2015, This Deputy responded to a residence in Friday Harbor reference a welfare check. Welfare check was completed and all was OK.

November 9, a derelict vehicle was abandoned in the traffic lane on Lopez Sound Rd. on Lopez Island. It was pushed off the road back into the driveway it came from.

On 11-09 a vehicle owner called to report a hit & run he claimed happened the night before in town. Deputies examined and photographed the damage and took the vehicle owners statement.

On 11/10/15, a deputy responded to a report of Eastsound woman posting on social media that she was going to harm herself. The investigation was completed and unfounded.

November 10, Lopez Island deputies and the county coroner are investigating the death of a 45 year old Lopez Island man.

November 10, Lopez Island deputies investigating a report of a physical domestic violence incident arrested a 31 year old Lopez Island woman for Assault IV- Domestic Violence. She was transported to Friday Harbor pending a court appearance.

On 11/10/15, an Orcas Island man reported that his landlord had been harassing him. This incident was determined civil in nature and documented just in case it later turns into a criminal case.

Deputies responded to the Friday Harbor holding facility to prevent an inmate from harming himself in the holding cell.

On 11/10/15, a deputy responded to a report of an unwanted person at an Eastsound business. The person left the area prior to the deputy’s arrival. The subject is known to law enforcement due to his previous issues with anger, belligerence, and threatening behavior.
