On 10/14/15 at 0035 hours a mentally ill transient committed criminal trespassing by entering a Friday Harbor, WA. residence uninvited. The subject entered through an unlocked door and made contact with the residents inside. The subject left without incident but left the residents feeling threatened.

October 14, a Lopez Island man reported a possible deer poaching incident where 2 men were seen loading a deer carcass into a pickup and concealing it.

On October 14, 2015, an Orcas resident received a phone call from an elaborate scheme claiming a family member was in custody and needed bail money. The resident believed this to be fraudulent and did not give any funds. A report was made.

15-006153 Theft 13:05:00 10/14/15
On October 14, a Lopez Island man reported that a smartphone he had lost months ago was currently being used to upload photos to cloud storage. The subjects in the photos were identified and the phone was recovered.

15-006163 Traffic Stop 21:16:20 10/14/15
Infraction issued to driver in front of Sheriff’s Office for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, expired vehicle registration and no operators license on person

15-006165 Mental Health 22:20:17 10/14/15
On 10-14-15 at 2220 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a domestic in the 500 block of Roche Harbor Rd. It was determined that a person at the residence was having a mental health issue and it was not a domestic.

15-006166 DUI 23:04:55 10/14/15
On 10-14-15 at 2304 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a possible DUI at the Little Store. The driver was contacted and was arrested for physical control of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The driver was booked into the San Juan County Jail.

On the date and time indicated, a male subject delivered the listed wallet and contents to the Sheriff’s Office. The complainant indicated he had found the items on the ground, near the San Juan County Fairgrounds.

15-006171 Communications Problem 09:25:08 10/15/15
On October 15, 2015, I received a call about a Deer Harbor Office in regards to a hostile customer. The employee needed an incident report to document the incident. No further action requested by the employee.

15-006173 Theft 11:25:36 10/15/15
On 10/15/15 a Friday Harbor resident reported that a package left at her door by UPS had been stolen. No known suspects or leads at this time.

15-006174 Unwanted Person 11:33:27 10/15/15
On Sunday, October 11, 2015, a Lopez man was confronted by church staff for behaving suspiciously. An off-duty Lopez deputy was present and spoke with the suspect. The church leadership decided to have the suspect formally trespassed.

15-006177 Attempted Suicide 12:57:44 10/15/15
On October 15, 2015, Dispatch told me that an angry, upset, suicidal person was driving to the Orcas Substation. She arrived at the substation where I contacted her. The female grabbed for equipment on my duty belt. She was physically restrained and eventually flown off for mental health evaluation.

15-006176 Vicious Animal 12:57:55 10/15/15
On Wednesday 10/14/15 at 1530 hours an unleashed pitbull attacked another dog while it was being walked by a teenage girl. Injuries to the animal are unknown at this time. The girl was not injured. This incident occurred at 595 Roche Harbor Rd. in Friday Harbor, WA. An investigation is in progress.

15-006178 Fraud 13:22:14 10/15/15
On 10/15/15 a Friday Harbor resident reported fraudulent charges on her credit card. The resident notified the bank and the charges are being reversed. The resident was unable to provide the credit card information because she had already destroyed the card. This occurred in Friday Harbor, WA.

15-006182 DUI 18:34:34 10/15/15
On 10/15/15 a Lopez resident was arrested for DUI on Orcas Island.

15-006185 Theft 08:59:26 10/16/15
On 10/16/15 a SJC Sheriff Deputy investigated a report of a vehicle on a Deer Harbor property was apparently moved and parked elsewhere by unknown person(s). A key for a separate car has gone missing and fuel may have been siphoned out of another vehicle. The case is under investigation.

15-006187 Trespassing 12:14:32 10/16/15
On 10/16/15 a SJC Sheriff Deputy investigated a report of a malicious mischief that occurred at an Eastsound address. Video surveillance was viewed and the suspect was identified. The suspect was located and issued a criminal citation for his action.

15-006191 Trespassing 13:07:07 10/16/15
Caller called and reported items missing from her home and believed it might be someone working at her landlord’s house that entered and took them. She called back later and stated she had discovered her items and there were no further concerns.

Driver cited for no current proof of insurance.

October 17, a pickup trying to turn around got stuck in the ditch, partially blocking Center Rd. A tow truck was required to extricate the truck. The pickup was not damaged in the incident.

Deputies responded to the area of B Street to keep the peace on a child custody exchange.

On 10/18/15 a SJC Sheriff Deputy responded to an Orcas address on a report of a hunter shooting a deer on private property without permission. The hunter was located and was associated with another person. The case is under further investigation.

15-006231 Accident-NonInj 19:55:14 10/18/15
On October 18, 2015, a Lopez deputy responded to a car vs. deer collision. The deer was deceased on scene and the vehicle showed reportable damage.

October 19, a break in was reported at a Lopez Island church. The building was damaged when entry was forced. The incident is under investigation.

On 10/20/15 a SJC Sheriff Deputy recognized a white male driving in Eastsound that was known to have a suspended license. The driver was cited with a promise to appear in court and released for Driving While License Suspended.

15-006247 Court Order Violation 11:57:54 10/20/15
On 10/20/15 at 1100 hours an Order violation was reported to the Sheriffs Office. The victim reported the restrained person was texting her repeatedly and wanted to report the violation in case the restrained person’s behavior escalates.

15-006250 Malicious Mischief 13:46:53 10/20/15
Reporting party states unknown persons damaged their mailbox between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

15-006255 Litter/Pollution/Public Health 16:13:10 10/20/15
On 10/20/15, an Orcas man noticed that someone had dumped garbage on his neighbor’s property while they were away. Investigation continues.
