A Lopez deputy was dispatched for minor damage to a vehicle after a helicopter landing at the medical clinic. A report was taken.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a welfare check in regards to a male subject screaming. Subject was contacted and found not to be an imminent danger to himself or others.

An Orcas Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound residence in regards to a possible prescription medicine overdose. Orcas Island Fire and Rescue evaluated the victim and took care and custody of her for medical attention. A report was taken.

A Lopez deputy responded to a report of a hit and run collision which occurred overnight. A report was taken.

Friday Harbor High School personnel contacted the Sheriffs Office to report a found item. The item was retrieved by Sheriffs Office personnel and impounded for safekeeping.

A Lopez deputy was contacted regarding unwanted emails. The sender was contacted and asked to stop.

A deputy responded to an unattended death in Eastsound. An investigation was conducted and a report taken.

A a report was received of a possible check fraud. Subsequent investigation revealed this case to consist of a series of simple mistakes and no crime was committed. No further action will be required by this office. Case closed.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Olga residence in regards to a possible theft. The Reporting person also alleged harassment, extortion and blackmail, all by a family member. The Reporting person only wanted an informational report taken.

A dog was in a roadway and was struck by vehicle. The dog was taken by the owner to the Orcas Veterinary Services for emergent care. An informational report was taken.

Deputies responded to an assault in Eastsound. An investigation was conducted and further review the incident was settled by contact. A report was taken.
16-007812 Overdose 15:57:17 10/14/16
Deputies responded to an overdose on the West side of San Juan Island. The male was transported to the hospital and later found to be on court ordered conditions not to consume liquor.
16-007816 Traffic Violation 17:58:00 10/14/16
Deputies were flagged down on Roche Harbor Road by a citizen that reported a vehicle was behind him and inflicting road rage on him. Deputies watched as the vehicle continued the aggressive behavior. Deputies stopped the vehicle and placed the suspect under arrest for DUI.

A Deputy was dispatched to a single vehicle non-injury collision in Friday Harbor. After further investigation the driver was cited for driving while suspended and no proof of insurance.

Lopez Island deputies responded to a Port Stanley Road residence to investigate a domestic violence complaint. The involved persons were contacted and there was insufficient evidence to determine who the primary aggressor was. The involved persons were separated. A report was completed.

A Deputy responded to an Eastsound business reference an unwanted person. When Deputies arrived an initial investigation was completed and a report was written.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a report of a subject who passed away after a medical emergency. A death report was taken.

A SJC Sheriff Deputy stopped a driver who had a suspended driver’s license. There was a child in the vehicle that was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver was issued with infractions.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a report of poaching and unsafe firearms discharge. The suspect vehicle fled the area prior to the deputy’s arrival.

A Deputy was dispatched to the Eastsound area reference a possible vehicle prowl. The Deputy conducted an initial investigation and a report was completed.

A SJC Sheriff Deputy responded to a vehicle off the roadway on Orcas Island. The driver was not at the scene. An investigation was conducted and a Collision Report was completed.

Two local residents got into a dispute at the Little Store in Friday Harbor. While passing each other in the entrance one or both parties were nudged and an argument ensued. The complaining party felt threatened and assaulted the other party. The complaining party was referred to District Court.

The mother of a Friday Harbor resident contacted us from Utah to perform a welfare check on her son who lives locally with his father. I contacted the school and his father and found the child to be safe and well cared for.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound location reference possible child abuse. The Deputy completed an investigation with a

Orcas Deputies and Orcas Island Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a vehicle roll over with unknown injuries. A sole occupant was extricated from the vehicle and flown off for medical evaluation.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a dog bite. A person reported that he was bit by a dog as he entered a restroom. The Deputy talked to the owner of the dog about the incident.
