A Lopez Island Deputy was called to a single vehicle hit and run property damage collision after an OPALCO crew responded to an outage and discovered that a vehicle had struck a transformer. The driver had fled the scene. The crash is under investigation.

A Deputy responded to a report of a possible probation violation in Friday Harbor. The Deputy met with the individual involved, a report was made, and report forwarded to the probation officer.

A Lopez Island Deputy assisted state Child Protective Services workers in assessing the safety of a child’s home. The child was taken into protective custody.

Orcas Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in Eastsound. The incident was settled by contact and a report was written.

A Lopez Island Deputy investigated a dog barking noise complaint. The dog owner was identified and the matter was resolved. The reporting person and dog owner agreed to be in contact with each other if the dogs created a disturbance in the future.

A Lopez Island Deputy assisted Child Protection Services after they could not make contact with a suspect in a child neglect case. The Deputy was able to locate the suspect and a report was completed.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian + vehicle collision. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries. The offending driver was issued a notice of infraction for failure to yield and no insurance.

Orcas Deputies responded to civil dispute in Eastsound involving a local woman who has been causing trouble in the community. A report was taken.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a trespassing complaint. The homeowner’s video surveillance system showed several people outside the residence. The people were gone on arrival and there was no indication a crime had been committed.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a suspected stolen item call. The reporting person reported seeing an unidentified person leave what he thought was a valuable item at a suspicious location. There was no report of the item being listed as stolen or lost. A report was completed.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Vehicle Prowl. An item was removed from a vehicle while parked at a local business. Report taken.

A Lopez Island Deputy was sent to check a damaged utility pole leaning out over Fisherman Bay Rd. The pole appeared structurally sound and the utility will be notified of the damage. It does not appear to be from a traffic collision.

San Juan Deputies located a group of transients at a local park. One was arrested on multiple warrants, the others moved along.

A Deputy on San Juan was dispatched to a report of a trespass in progress. The subjects left the scene but were captured on video. The subjects will be served a trespass notice.

A Deputy responded to a report of a shoplifting at a Friday Harbor Business. The property was returned, the business did not wish to prosecute, and one male was trespassed from the business. Report made.

A Friday Harbor Deputy responded to a report of an unwanted person at a local business. One person was trespassed from the property and a report made.

A Lopez Deputy received a second hand report of a possible DUI single vehicle collision that had occurred the night before. The involved party was contacted and a report was completed.

A Lopez Island Deputy took a fraud report involving a scam where the suspect called the victim impersonating a law enforcement officer and demanded money to resolve a pending crisis.
