A Deputy was dispatched to Discovery Way, Eastsound, reference domestic violence. Deputies arrived and conducted an initial investigation and a report was completed.

A deputy was dispatched to a Single Vehicle Traffic Accident. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the driver. Investigation continues.

A Lopez Island deputy was sent to investigate a single vehicle non injury crash on Mud Bay Rd in the wee hours of the morning. A Lopez Island woman was subsequently arrested for DUI. No one was hurt in the crash, and the car was impounded. Driver was cited and released pending a court appearance.
16-009472 Vicious Animal 08:00:06 12/28/16
A dog was in its yard outside of its residence with its owner nearby. A second dog was being walked on its leash in front of the residence of the first dog. The dog at its residence then left its property and attacked and injured the dog being walked on its leash. This occurred in Friday Harbor.

A Lopez Island deputy was sent to a 911 hang up call. The response was cancelled after dispatchers were able to contact the caller and determine the 911 call was made in error. No further action needed.

Deputies were dispatched a verbal domestic on Shaw Island. After further investigation it was found to be mainly verbal and both parties promised to stay apart from each other for the evening. No further.

A juvenile Friday Harbor resident made suicidal threats to her family. The family contacted emergency dispatch because they were not sure if she had ingested anything. EMS responded and the juvenile was transported to the hospital to be seen by a mental health professional.
16-009496 Accident-HitRun 15:20:54 12/29/16
A Friday Harbor person called to report Hit & Run to their car. The reporting party said her car was parked by her apartment at 1100 hours and when she came out later there was front end damage. There are no suspects or physical evidence. Report filed for insurance purposes.

Deputies responded to a residence on San Juan Island to investigate a report of a domestic dispute. Deputies found this to be verbal only and no further action was taken.

The reporting deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island area in reference to a Single Vehicle Traffic Accident. The reporting deputy arrived and located a single vehicle in the ditch on its roof. The accident was weather related.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for an animal problem involving an at-large dog which bit another dog. The owner of the biting dog was cited.

Deputy was dispatched to a possible injury single vehicle collision in Friday Harbor. After further investigation the driver was found not to be impaired and declined medical attention. A collision report was completed. No further.

A Lopez Island deputy responded to a Fisherman Bay Road residence regarding a threats complaint. The reporting person initially alleged his roommate threatened to harm him. Both the reporting person and roommate subsequently declined cooperating or filing a formal complaint. A report was completed.

A Lopez Island deputy found several subjects on the beach at Otis Perkins Park after dark. The subjects left after being contacted. No further action was necessary.
16-009587 Illegal Fireworks 22:19:14 12/31/16
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a fireworks complaint in the 6500 block of
Fisherman Bay Road on 12/31/16. The perpetrator was located and issued a ticket
for illegal possession and detonation of fireworks. His remaining fireworks were
confiscated and a report was completed.

Deputies responded to Tucker Ave to investigate a fight in progress. Neither party wanted to press charges. no further law enforcement action was taken.

A citizen was walking West on Guard Street when a full size White Ford truck came from behind him at a high rate of speed and slid sideways into the front of the professional building in Friday Harbor. The vehicle left prior to Deputies arrival.
17-000021 Wanted Person 13:07:31 01/01/17
A SJC Deputy located and arrested an Eastsound resident for warrants and driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded. A warrant was obtained to search the vehicle. Illegal drugs were located in the vehicle. The suspect could be facing felony charges for possession of illegal drugs.

Deputy was dispatched to Roche Harbor Rd. and Misty Isle Dr. for a van in the ditch. I arrived and found a van attempting a right turn onto Misty Isle had struck a row of mailboxes. The driver was okay and the incident appeared to be age related. Tow was called and the van removed and the driver was taken home.

A SJC Deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the early evening
hours in Eastsound. Further investigation revealed probable cause to believe
the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested,
processed and released with a promise to appear in court.

A deputy was dispatched to a Theft in the Lopez Island area. The reporting deputy made contact with caller. Investigation continues.
17-000044 Domestic Dispute or Assault 12:04:00 01/02/17
Lopez Island deputies were sent to a reported domestic assault in progress. A 22 year old woman was arrested and lodged in jail on a charge of Assault IV- Domestic Violence.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a sex crime that occurred in another jurisdiction. This case is still under investigation.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a residential alarm. The Deputy checked the residence and discovered an open door. There was no evidence that indicated that anything was missing from the residence or if anyone had entered. The Deputy was able to secure the residence.

A citizen reported a female subject outside of her vehicle which appeared to have gone off the roadway into a ditch. The female subject had injury and was treated at Peace Island Medical Center. She was arrested for DUI. This incident occurred in Friday Harbor.

A Friday Harbor woman reported that her dog is missing, possibly stolen from a Lopez Island business on New Years Day. The dog is described as a black female Pomeranian/poodle mix named Onyx. A report was taken.

A Lopez Island deputy was sent to check on a road struck deer on Mud Bay Rd. The deer was dead when the deputy arrived. It was removed from the roadway and dragged off into the brush.
