16-006318 Assault – Body Force 11:30:11 08/24/16
A Lopez Island deputy responded to a call of domestic violence. A 27 year old Lopez Island man was arrested for Assault IV-DV and lodged in jail pending court appearance.
16-006325 Trespassing 15:29:19 08/24/16
A Deputy was dispatched to a trespassing incident in Friday Harbor. Reporting party declined prosecution of the suspect, but if they do return they will want the suspected arrested.
16-006333 DUI 20:50:23 08/24/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor contacted a driver that had pulled into the ferry line who was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for DUI and was booked into the San Juan County Jail.
16-006335 Controlled Substance Problem 22:07:50 08/24/16
An Orcas Island deputy responded to a report of a juvenile involved in the possession and consumption of an illegal drug. An investigation was conducted and a report written. The drugs were seized and the report forwarded to juvenile services.

16-006340 Death Investigation 12:23:49 08/25/16
A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a possible death investigation in the 3500 block of Fisherman Bay Road. A second deceased victim was found, both by apparent gunshot wounds. At this time the Sheriff’s office is ruling the incident a murder/suicide.
16-006359 Court Order Violation 23:08:11 08/25/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an order violation. The victim reported that the suspect violated a domestic violence no contact order. This case is still under investigation.
16-006361 Assault – Aggravated 23:33:09 08/25/16
Deputies from Friday Harbor received a report of an assault on Sucia Island. The suspected was arrested for Assault 2nd degree and was booked into the San Juan County Jail.
16-006360 Trouble Unknown 23:37:43 08/25/16
A Deputy responded to a residence on Lopez Island to investigate a 911 hang up. It was determined the caller unintentionally called the communication center for emergency services during an argument with her spouse. There was no evidence of a crime and a report was completed.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Trespass incident in Friday Harbor. The manager of the business provided a trespass letter which was served by a Deputy to the party to be trespassed. No further.
16-006367 Theft 12:00:50 08/26/16
An Orcas Island citizen reported a several thefts that occurred over the last few months. An investigation has been started and a report taken.
16-006368 Found Property 15:22:14 08/26/16
On the date and time listed, complainant brought the listed wallet and
contents to the Sheriff’s Office. Subject stated he had found the wallet lying
on the sidewalk, as we was walking to the ferry landing. The wallet, though
used, appeared to be in good shape, containing ID belonging to owner.

An Orcas Island man reported a theft that occurred a couple of months ago. Investigation continues.

Deputies responded to a theft of a parcel in the Eastsound area. During the course of the investigation it was determined a parcel was taken from a mailbox. A report was completed. No further action was required.

A Lopez Island deputy was asked to check on an island resident after their family was unable to contact them in a couple of days. The person was contacted and all was well. The family was reunited on the phone.
16-006434 Animal Noise 14:47:29 08/28/16
Deputies were dispatched to an Eastsound residence reference dogs barking. During the course of this investigation it was determined a County ordinance was violated and a citation was completed. No further action was required.
16-006436 Theft 15:14:47 08/28/16
An Eastsound resident reported that a wallet was taken from an unlocked vehicle on Orcas Island. There are no known suspects.
16-006441 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 17:37:32 08/28/16
A Lopez deputy was dispatched for suspicious behavior by a temporary resident on another’s property. Subject was contacted and asked to avoid other residents on the property.

A Lopez Island deputy was sent to a residence on a 9-1-1 hang up call. No problem was found at the home, but mom was not happy about her young children playing with the phone. A teachable moment for the kids about 9-1-1.
16-006461 Accident-NonInj 11:36:50 08/29/16
A Deputy responded to a two car collision in the area of Argyle and Cattlepoint Rd., Friday Harbor, WA. One of the drivers was racing to the ferry and rear ended the other while following too closely. No injuries. The driver racing for the ferry was cited for a suspended license.

A Lopez island deputy was called regarding a traffic hazard after a log reportedly fell out of a dump truck on Fisherman Bay Rd near Redgate Ln, nearly striking a bicyclist. The truck and cyclist were gone on arrival. A 6-7 section of log about 2′ in diameter was pushed into the ditch.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Doe Bay reference threats. Deputies completed an initial investigation and determined no crime occurred. A report was taken.
16-006467 Unwanted Person 13:23:34 08/29/16
A Lopez Island deputy was called to the Post Office regarding a woman acting erratically in the post office lobby alarming other customers. The woman had left before the deputy arrived. No further action was taken.
16-006471 Child Abuse or Neglect 14:26:21 08/29/16
A juvenile and the mother reported a child abuse while the juvenile was in the care of the father. The juvenile was taken into protective custody, CPS was notified and an investigation was initiated. This occurred on San Juan Island.
16-006474 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:40:47 08/29/16
An irate patron repeatedly called a Lopez Island establishment about a prior incident. That patron was referred to the sheriff’s office for information on the previous incident. No further action was necessary.
16-006475 Court Order Violation 16:24:48 08/29/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a court order violation. The Deputy observed the violation and the report was sent to the court for disposition.
16-006480 Trespassing 20:33:03 08/29/16
The reporting deputy had phone contact with the victim in reference to a Trespass. The victim advised a subject had gone to her property. No crime was committed but the subject was advised not to return to the property or the subject would be charged with trespassing.
16-006481 Theft 20:39:14 08/29/16
The reporting deputy was contacted by the victim in the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Theft. The victim reported that he had left some golf clubs on the sidewalk. The clubs were gone when he returned. Investigation continues.
16-006483 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 21:27:35 08/29/16
The reporting deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island area in reference to a Suspicious Circumstance. The reporting deputy arrive and discovered an illegal dumping of car parts. Investigation continues.
16-006487 Traffic Stop 22:37:36 08/29/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving with wheels left of center. The investigation revealed probable cause to arrest the driver for driving under the influence. The vehicle was towed. The subject was released with a promise to appear in court.

Deputies responded to the south shore of Johns Island in response to a deceased SCUBA diver. Upon arrival we contacted a Fish & Wildlife vessel as well as USCG who had previously responded to assist.
