A Lopez Island deputy was called about a dog reportedly running at large in the Village. The dog and owner were located in the vicinity. The dog owner was advised of the complaint. No enforcement action was taken.
17-005543 Domestic Dispute or Assault 18:25:57 08/16/17
An Orcas Island woman contacted a deputy regarding a domestic dispute. An investigation was conducted and a report was written.

Orcas deputies responded to a report of domestic dispute in Eastsound. Upon arrival an investigation was conducted and a report was taken.

A Deputy contacted a Lopez Island resident on regarding a trespass complaint. It was determined the involved person went on the property so she could check on items she had left while working there. The property owner confirmed the claim and that no crime took place. A report was completed.

A Lopez deputy responded to a reported burglary at a local business. The investigation continues.
17-005588 Theft 08:38:46 08/18/17
A Deputy responded to a theft on Orcas. There was a kayak missing from the North Beach area. A report was taken. No suspects at this time.
17-005597 Accident-Injury, Traffic 14:09:22 08/18/17
A pedestrian vs. car accident was reported on Front St. Deputies found the pedestrian and driver in a coffee shop, talking. The pedestrian was examined and had scraped his hand and bumped his head and declined aid. They exchanged information and they were satisfied and went back to their coffee.
17-005601 Theft 15:18:29 08/18/17
A theft was reported at the County Fair. The suspect was caught and held by a witness, until deputies arrived. The items were recovered and the booth owner declined to press charges as she is always traveling and couldn’t come to court. The suspect was ejected and banned from the fairgrounds.
17-005606 Theft 16:59:18 08/18/17
An Orcas resident came to the station to report identity theft. The subject had received notice that his ‘account’ had been sold to another bank and he owed additional money, but he has never heard of either business. He is working with his bank to correct this and needed a police report.

Lopez Island Deputies responded to a reported domestic violence call. There was found to be no crime committed. A report was taken.

A citizen turned in credit cards and a drivers license to a Sheriff’s Deputy. The items were entered into evidence for safe keeping
17-005638 Vehicle Prowl 15:45:14 08/19/17
A visiting tourist observed a male prowling a truck in Friday Harbor. He took a picture of the truck and followed the suspect getting a picture of the suspect. He was recognized as a Friday Harbor resident. Investigation continues.

A Lopez Island deputy received a report of an intoxicated driver aboard a ferry bound for Lopez. The deputy met the ferry when it arrived, and discovered the intoxicated subject was not operating the vehicle. No action was taken.

King’s Market reported a shoplifter in custody. The shoplifter was contacted and issued a permanent ‘No Trespassing’ letter for both King’s Market and Market Place and a report was filed.

Friday Harbor deputies responded to a father/son domestic. After investigation the father was taken into custody, pending a court hearing.
17-005671 Weapons Noise 15:41:00 08/20/17
A report of weapon noise was reported in Friday Harbor. The Deputy contacted the reporting party and was unable to locate the source of the shooting. The reporting party said that a bullet had gone onto their property and hit one of their trees.

A deputy was dispatched to a Residential Burglary in the Friday Harbor area. The caller returned from work and found several items missing. Investigation continues…

17-005684 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 09:36:44 08/21/17
A Deputy was dispatched to a disturbance at an Eastsound Business. Further investigation lead to the arrest of a male subject who had a local warrant in Eastsound. The suspect was cooperative and the arrest was made without incident. The suspect was transported via patrol boat to Friday Harbor.

A Deputy responded to a found property report at a local business in Eastsound. The item was secured and will be held until the time limit to claim the property has expired.
17-005694 Wanted Person 14:27:43 08/21/17
Lopez Island Deputies arrested a local woman on an outstanding warrant. The subject posted bail and was released.
17-005697 Wanted Person 15:53:53 08/21/17
Lopez Island deputies contacted a Lopez woman at her home and took her into custody on an outstanding San Juan County District Court bench warrant. She was transported to the station where she was processed and released after posting bail.
17-005698 Agency Assistance 15:58:55 08/21/17
A Lopez Island deputy was asked to assist a state agency locate and recover a piece of specialized medical equipment. The item was tracked to Orcas Island where it was given to an Orcas deputy for return to the state agency.

A Lopez Island deputy was sent to investigate a possible trespass in progress at a Lopez residence. The property owner observed someone moving around on the property on live feed security cameras. It was found to be the caretaker that was on the property doing a security sweep.

Vehicle was gone on arrival. Employees said owner showed up and removed vehicle shortly after the call was received.
17-005721 Vehicle Prowl 10:41:30 08/22/17
A Deputy took a report of an apparent Vehicle Prowl at an Eastsound address. A tool kit and its contents was found missing from the back of a pickup. The belongings lost are an estimated $5000 dollar value. The case is being investigated.

A commercial fisherman found a dingy adrift off Iceberg Point, Lopez Island. The dingy was returned to Lopez and reunited with its owner.

Deputies responded for a welfare check on Crane Island and discovered a deceased person.
17-005727 Lost Property 12:59:37 08/22/17
A Lopez Island man reported that his dingy and outboard motor were missing from the Mackaye Harbor area. The dingy had been found adrift off Iceberg Point earlier by a commercial fisherman. The dingy was reunited with its owner. It likely was taken by the high tide during the night.

A Lopez Island man reported parts stolen off of his bicycle while it was parked in a Lopez Island recreation area. A report was taken.

A Lopez Island deputy was called to investigate a collision between a runaway boat and trailer that struck 4 unoccupied parked cars at the Hunter Bay Boat Ramp. No one was injured in the mishap but property damage was extensive.
