From Sheriff Rob Nou
With school out, summer arriving and the onset of the tourist season, traffic concerns and traffic safety becomes an issue for our island communities. We all pride ourselves on the safety of the islands, and the relaxed pace.
The sheriff’s office is stepping up enforcement to keep people safe. Specific emphasis will focus on impaired drivers, speeding drivers, distracted drivers (cell phones), and unrestrained occupants of motor vehicles.
We will be working hard to keep our islands safe and to prevent a tragedy.

afternoon drivebys at Madrona Pt might be a good idea. What looks like a group of West Side Story kids are hanging out in cars booming with rap. Not a safety issue but because the kids are littering the place terribly, it is just a community embarrasment…where and how did these kids get raised anyhow!?
