From Orcas Island School District Business Office
The initial notice of a public hearing on the issuance of non-voted debt, which was issued by the Orcas Island School District and published in the Islands Sounder on May 11th, gave the incorrect date for the hearing. Although the date was corrected in the second notice, which was published on May 18th, the law requires publication of the correct information for two consecutive weeks.
In order to comply with regulations, the hearing has been rescheduled for a special meeting of the School Board, which will be held starting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8th. Notices will appear in the Sounder for the next two weeks (May 25th and June 1st) announcing the new hearing schedule
