— from Holly Southern for Rosario Resort —

Christmas trees return to light up the Moran Mansion at Rosario Resort & Spa during the month of December. Sponsored by the resort, the Festival of Trees is designed as a fundraiser during the holiday season for participating organizations. This year’s trees will be festively decorated by ten local non-profits:

    • Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
    • Orcas Island Animal Protection Society
    • Orcas Island Historical Society
    • Friends of Moran State Park
    • The Funhouse Discovery Center
    • A-OK Arts for Orcas Kids
    • Orcas Island Farm to Cafeteria Program
    • Orcas Montessori School
    • Orcas Island Education Foundation
    • Orcas Rotary

The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite tree by purchasing votes ($1 per ticket) throughout the entire month of December. All voter tickets will also be entered into a raffle to win prizes, including:

  • Grand Prize: two round-trip tickets to/from Orcas Island/Seattle on Kenmore Air with a two-night hotel stay (at Rosario for non-locals, or in Seattle for Orcas residents)
  • 2nd Prize: A two-month Rosario spa pass. ($180 value)
  • 3rd Prize: A $100 Gift Certificate to The Mansion Restaurant

Each organization will receive all voting dollars, along with an additional donation from Rosario Resort.

“Orcas Island has really embraced this fundraiser,” states Rosario General Manager Christopher Peacock. “Each year the participating organizations seem to outdo themselves with the creativity of their displays. We encourage locals and visitors alike to visit The Mansion this holiday season and show your support for the valuable work these groups do for our community.”

The Moran Mansion is open daily from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Front Desk before touring the tree display.

Rosario’s Holiday Open House will be held Friday, December 7 through Sunday, December 9 (12 noon-8 p.m. each day) with complimentary hot apple cider and cookies and 10% off all boutique purchases.
