EVERETT, Wash. – Rick Larsen filed for reelection on May 4. In the next Congress, Larsen will work to lower costs for working families, including child care, health care, housing, groceries and gas. He will continue delivering federal funding to invest in jobs and infrastructure across Northwest Washington, combat the threat of fentanyl and opioids in local communities and hold ICE accountable.

“Representing my home district is a privilege – one I do not take for granted,” Larsen said. “Today, I filed for reelection to continue delivering results for our local communities. I will work to lower the costs of child care, health care, groceries, housing and energy. Prices are far too high and are harming the pocketbooks of working families, and I will work to bring down costs.”

“While we have made progress on a number of important issues, there is still more work to do,” Larsen said. “I will ensure ICE follows the same standards as other local and state law enforcement agencies and continue working to combat the threat of fentanyl and opioids in our community.”

Larsen was born and raised in Northwest Washington, with family roots dating back more than a century. His great-grandparents settled in the Deming area in the 1800s, and his family has since shared the experiences and concerns of many in the region.

“My family has called Northwest Washington home for over 100 years,” Larsen said. “My father was a union power line worker, and my mom managed the books at home while raising eight kids in Arlington. They embodied the values that unite us: working hard, caring for each other, and serving the community. These values guide my work in Congress, and I look forward to meeting voters across Northwest Washington, discussing their top-of-mind issues and earning their support.”

Rick Larsen has called Northwest Washington home for over 100 years. Rick has worked to represent Northwest Washington in Congress and is committed to lowering costs for working families, holding the administration accountable and bringing federal dollars back home to invest in jobs and infrastructure.
