The San Juan County Council is scheduled to come to Orcas Island for its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 8 at the Eastsound Fire Hall.

The draft agenda, subject to changes, calls for the following items on the agenda, beginning at 10 a.m.

  • A Public Hearing To Consider Approval of the Final Draft Solid Waste and Moderate-Risk Management Plan – Mark Herrenkohl, Solid Waste Manager
  • A Public Hearing To Consider Adopting Street Improvement Standard Plans for Eastsound’s Madrona Point within the Eastsound Subarea – Colin Huntemer, County Engineer

Also on the agenda are plans to:

  • Review Community Development and Housing Needs, Inform Citizens of the Availability of Funds and Eligible Uses of the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Receive Comments on Proposed Activities, Particularly from Lower Income Persons and Organizations – Mark Tompkins, Director Health & Human Services; Ryan Page, Affordable Housing Coordinator
