What is the importance of over-wintering areas and why is Puget Sound so important?  Which birds live here in the winter and why are there so many more species than the East coast? An intermediate birding class on over-wintering and backyard birds will answer these questions and more in the six-week course at the Orcas Island Library.

Ornithologist/wildlife artist, Kim Middleton, will focus on the winter birds of our area by discussing bird survival strategies, species ID, and where to find them.

This six-week class begins Friday, October 1st, from 10am-1pm and runs until November 5th. The cost is $75 per student. Sign up for classes at the Library.  Questions?  Please phone Kathy Lunde 376-4985.
