BROWN BAG CONCERT WITH MARTIN LUND
At noon
The popular Brown Bag Concert series at Emmanuel Episcopal Parish during July and August starts with Martin Lund at 12 noon and ends at 12:30 p.m.
FIREWORKS @ DEER HARBOR MARINA
At dusk
The annual fireworks show will start at dusk at the Deer Harbor Marina. Viewing is only allowed from the pier and beach. The show is happening because of donations from the Deer Harbor community as well as the Deer Harbor Business Association.
Thursday, July 4
JULY 4TH HISTORICAL DAYS ON THE VILLAGE GREEN
Starting at 11 am
Live Antique Auction, Harvey Family Logging Show, Silent Auction, Raffles, Games, Hot Dogs and an Old Fashioned Beer Garden, Music and more. Sponsored by your Orcas Island Historical Museum. There is no admission fee. Bring your family.
- 11 am – Presentation of the Colors, American Legion & Flag Ceremony Eagle Forum
- 11:30 pm – Live Music on the band shell
- 12:30 pm – Live Auction, with special items and antiques donated from local families and businesses. Mark Padbury is the Live Auctioneer for this event. Auction proceeds will support the Museum.
- 1:15 – 3 pm – The Harvey Family Old-Fashioned Logging Show

LIVE MUSIC: VARIOUS ARTISTS & OPEN MIC at DOE BAY
From 2 – 9 pm
Join us on the beautiful Doe Bay Bluff, overlooking the Salish Sea, for an afternoon of live music as we celebrate Independence Day! Music starts at 2 pm on the Otter Cove Stage! Beer, soda, and snacks will be available from the Doe Bay General Store. Enjoy Live Music by: Justin Froese, Cellar Door, and Orcas Island’s Keely Scott. We will have a special, early 4th of July Open Mic in the Cafe, hosted by Justin Froese, immediately following the Music on the Bluff kicked off by Captain Gravel. BEER BY THE BAY: A FUN HOUSE COMMONS FUNDRAISER
from 6 – 10 pm, across from Outlook Inn
Beer by the Bay will offering beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages before the fireworks display, with a fantastic view of the water. Stop by to pick up a hot chai to take to your spot, or stay for a beer or a glass of wine. Homemade pie will also be available by the slice. Must be 21 or older to enter. 100% of the proceeds support the Funhouse’s key programs: Mentoring, After-School, Teen Night, and Education. FIREWORKS at the EASTSOUND WATERFRONT PARK
At dusk
The fireworks display in Eastsound will start at dusk. Enjoy the view from Waterfront Park where the Community Band will perform at 9:15 pm and the pyrotechnics begin at just after 10 pm.
ROCK AND SOUL DANCE AT ODD FELLOWS HALL
at 8:30 p.m.
Odd Fellows of Orcas Island will host a Rock and Soul fundraiser dance to help raise money for our Community Giving Fund. The fund helps provide scholarships to community-minded high school seniors, and we also help send kids to conferences on sustainability. Admission is $10. We will feature music from the 60s and 70s, and include outstanding video performances from Woodstock, Cream, Concert for George and your other long-time friends.
Part Two of “Orcas Will Get a Big Bang from the 4th, etc.!” continues tomorrow with events planned for July 5, 6 and 7.
