From Cathy Faulkner
For many students on Orcas Island, the school library is a wonderful haven for learning, reading and discovery.
When Trevor Moulton of Olga found out that the future of the library was uncertain, he jumped into action to help save his favorite place at school. Every week, Trevor sets aside a portion of his allowance to issues that are important to him, and he has decided to allocate all his “share” money to the Library fund. A parent “match” donation was also negotiated.
In preparation for the beginning of the school year, Trevor also drafted a reminder to others who believe the school library is a treasured asset and must remain open. (see attached JPG)

Trevor-
Consider you money matched again! Way to step up and show us all how to get it done!
Thank you Justin! Trevor will be thrilled to hear the news!
I will also match Trevor’s efforts. Let me know what it is!
Janet – you’re wonderful! The amount is $61.
For 61 weeks, Trevor set aside $1 of his weekly allowance waiting for a cause that spoke to him. On Wednesday of last week – he handed me all his money ($61) and we happily matched. Seeing the lights dark in the library is heartbreaking for our family as it’s one of Trevor’s favorite places. Let’s work together to get it open again. Thanks to Justin and Janet – Trevor’s $61 has just grown to $244!
I am in awe of Trevor. Check made out to OIEF/library fund coming your way this week. Hope others will match Trevor’s $61 donation!
Bravo! You are an impressive young man. I plan to contribute to the library in your name.
Thank you Janeen. Not only is the library fund a worth cause, but it’s been an amazing learning experience for my 3rd grader!
