Art by Trevor Moulton to help keep the school library open

From Cathy Faulkner

For many students on Orcas Island, the school library is a wonderful haven for learning, reading and discovery.

When Trevor Moulton of Olga found out that the future of the library was uncertain, he jumped into action to help save his favorite place at school. Every week, Trevor sets aside a portion of his allowance to issues that are important to him, and he has decided to allocate all his “share” money to the Library fund. A parent “match” donation was also negotiated.

In preparation for the beginning of the school year, Trevor also drafted a reminder to others who believe the school library is a treasured asset and must remain open. (see attached JPG)
