SJC chip sealing the west lane of Orcas Road on July 15. The pilot car is leading traffic in the east lane.

Orcas Road is open to traffic! It has been chip sealed and the detour has been removed north of McNallie.

Note that the speed limit continues to be 25 mph for the near term.

So what’s next?

  • Topsoil will be applied alongside the road for stormwater filter strips
  • Guardrail will be installed next week
  • The road will be fog-sealed in a few weeks
  • Centerline and shoulder striping will be added in August
  • Hydroseeding will take place in the fall
