Orcas Choral Society Sings with 10 Brass Instrumentalists Dec. 11 and 12

The Orcas Choral Society will hold its 34th Winter Concerts this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 11 and 12,  at the Orcas Center. The choir, founded by Catherine Pederson and now conducted by Roger Sherman, will sing music from Felix Mendelssohn,  John Tavener, Dave Brubeck, Daniel Pinkham and Eric Whitacre.

The concerts will also feature an impressive brass presence, with 10 instrumentalists in a double “choir” brass ensemble, assembled by Island trumpet player Steve Alboucq.

Tickets are $10, $3 for students. There are two performances: Saturday December 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday December 12 at 2 p.m., both in Orcas Center. Seating is reserved and tickets frequently sell out.
