On Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 9:41 p.m., Orcas Island Fire Rescue was called to assist San Juan County Sheriff’s Deputies and Moran State Park Rangers in a search and rescue for a 35 year-old male who was reported to be lost or injured on a trail in Moran State Park.

The hiker who was visiting Orcas Island, was last seen at approximately 2:00 p.m. in the area of Cascade Falls and Mt. Pickett. Soon after responders began an organized search, the man was found in stable medical condition with no injuries and was reunited with his friends.

Thank you to the eighteen members from OIFR who participated in the search operation which ended just before midnight.
