"Reverse Dog" by Dwight Duke, one of two in his ‘Dogs’ Diptych, Gunpowder on Venetian plaster, will be featured at the October Art Show

Orcas art lovers – mark your calendars for an exciting alternative group art show opening on Friday October 7. The Orcas Center is thrilled to present an innovative collection of new works from over two-dozen artists. Expect to see a whole host of alternative mediums not usually shown together: gunpowder on glass and Venetian plaster, salvaged materials, photography, jewelry, doll making, metal, book and paper arts, screen printing, mixed media, and more. Kevin Dickey will layer in live music during the event utilizing a unique medium of his own – his crystal singing bowl.

The collective group of artists include: Emily Aring, Sadie Bailey, Ali Boe, Osa Caudill, Andrea Cohen, Khadoma Colomby, Satya Curcio, David Densmore, Kevin Dickey, Dwight Duke, Erica Ekrem, Chuck Greening, Marguerite Greening, Jorgen Harle, Erika Harlow, Carlin Hayworth, Kt Hendrie, Stephanie Iverson, Deborah Jones, Zackaraya Leck, Jeff Ludwig (aka Uncle Junk), Jennifer Posada, Sebastian Posada, Susan Slapin, Deborah Sparks, Winfred Taylor, Judy Tepley, Jasmine Townsend, Kyler Townsend.

Please come and enjoy a gorgeous evening filled with local alternative art, music, and conversations with the artists themselves. Make a night of it and stay for the Orcas Horns and Nouveau Stride, playing at the Orcas Center directly following the art opening. We hope to see you there!
