Orcas Medical Foundation (OMF) invites “anyone interested in health care on Orcas Island” to its annual meeting on Wednesday, April 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the Madrona Room at Orcas Center. “Members and non-members alike are welcome,” said OMF Board President Mary Riveland.
OMF is the non-profit organization that owns the Orcas Medical Center (OMC) building. The OMF organization was founded 58 years ago to attract quality medical care to Orcas Island. The OMC practice is managed by Island Hospital of Anacortes.
On April 23, there will be desserts and conversation at 6:30 p.m., followed at 7:00 by a brief business meeting and announcement of new board members – then this year’s guest speaker, the new physician at Orcas Medical Center Dr. Camille Fleming, MD, MBA (Master of Business Administration). Her topic will be, “A Medical Home Approach to Family Health.”
Dr. Fleming is an experienced family physician with a passion for promoting wellness, developing a relationship with each patient, and providing high-quality health care throughout the life span. As a mother of three children – ages 13, 11, and 8 – she understands the needs and concerns of parents and families. She has a strong interest in women’s health and pediatrics and provides prenatal care on-island. Dr. Fleming, her husband John, and their children now live on Orcas Island.
