— from Margot Shaw —
The foes advance…..
I raised my piece;
I said my peace
And took my shot;
My slim defense,
It was de fence
That slowed their trot
And victory dance.

Margo,
That is too darned funny!!!!
Your sweet little poem brought back memories of chasing and cajoling escaped farm animals over the years. It often angered me as they always looked like they were having so much fun outrunning and outsmarting me.
But now that I am older I realize they read the bumper sticker years before I did that said, “Live life like someone left the gate open!”.
Thanks for helping me laugh about the past once again!
Maggie
Thank you Margo, just the fun I needed for the icing on my birthday cake today. And thanks Maggie for your additional icing.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Jean…don’t let that inevitable creeping age get your goat….
We’re all in the same boat.
