Martin Lund, meditative as he prepares for One World:  Planes, Trains, Automobiles and Boats

Martin Lund’s One World Music Celebration rides again – in fact, on June 15th and 16th, it’ll be riding on Planes, Trains, Automobiles, and Boats. That’s the theme for this year’s version of this island favorite evening of variety and musical fun. The words of Gavin McCloud, Captain of the Love Boat, say it all – “set a course for adventure, your mind on a new romance.”

Once again, Martin will be bringing a glut of talented, musical friends from this region and that to the Orcas Center stage, including local favorites Tiffany Loney (yes, there will be dancing, too!), Jim Bredouw, Turtleback Brass, Brograss, and Almost Classical. They will be joined by off-island talent drummer Brian Kirk, bassist Chuck Deardorf, guitarist Brian Monroney, and singer Nancy Zahn, singing and playing songs of the sea, the open road, the wild blue yonder, and the clickety-clacking rails.

Keeping with the philanthropic history of the show, which has brought music and smiles to Orcas since 2002, all proceeds from the 2018 concert benefit The Orcas Center. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.orcascenter.org, by calling (360) 376-2281 x 1, or at the Orcas Center Box Office, open Tuesday – Friday noon – 3pm.
