Local Reservist Gets Called Up

I, U.S. Army Reserve SGT Blake Salem Baida, have received notification of an immediate mobilization to serve as a Legal NCO. I will be leaving my wife Tonya and our two boys Tanner (14), Trevor (11) on Orcas while serving our country.

I will also be absent from my employer the Orcas Island School District leaving a void in two departments, I want to recognize the sacrifice the school district and my co-workers will make when they support me and my family while I am away.

As I participate in my second career that is of great importance to our community and the nation, I ask for support from the community. Please look after my family and keep me in your prayers.

Supporting our troops when they are called to arms is vital to sustaining our great nation. Please support me by checking in on my family for I know of no other place than Orcas Island that I feel comfortable leaving them alone. I hope to thank you personally when I get home. God Bless America!

Hope all goes well. How close is the base to Branson? Maybe you can go to the Titanic Museum or something else fun on your days off. See you when you get back.
