— from Orcas Island Education Foundation Board —

The Orcas Island Education Foundation would like to thank everyone who attended our “Food for Thought” fundraiser on June 2. It was a fun evening, we raised funding for next school year, and as one guest said, “the vibe was perfect.” It could not have gone better!

We could not have pulled off this event without a LOT of help. Firstly, huge thank you’s to our hosts, Four Winds Camp, to Island Market for its donations, and to the Orcas Village Store for a fantastic dinner.

The auctions we had were populated with fantastic items/services from the following donors: Ship Bay, Darvill’s, All the Happy Dogs, Body Boat Blade, Greg White, KT Chocolates, Joe Thoron & Lisl Thomsen, Robert Dash, Springboard, April Pollack, Michelle de Long, Lisa Boyd, Ace Hardware, Kristin Mierau, Megan Tye, Katie Blaine, Mijitas, Red Rabbit Farm, Island Thyme, Orcas Moon Alpaca farm, Michelle Reed, Kim & Kyle Freeman, Cathy Ferran, Family Tree Chiropractic, Deb Jones, Dante Miller, Mindy Kayl, Susan Stolmeier, Driftwood Nursery, Deer Harbor Inn, Local Goods, Dr. Chris White, Pamela Jenkins, Puds’ n Stuff, Paul Sheridan, John Steward, Ryan Downs, and Blythe and Tony Simpson. THANK YOU!

Thank you to our dessert chefs who made the most incredible “Dessert Dash” table ever: Barbara Courtney, Criss Forslund, Maggie Vinson, Michelle Reed, Paul Sheridan, Paula Town, Alyson Stephens, Kate Long, Cathy Ferran, Janet Brownell, Lynn Freeman, Geri Turnoy, and Susan Stoltz.

Lastly, a shout out of thanks to our volunteers: Millie Kau, Phil Comito, Birdie Greening, Phil Carter, Ronan Kau, Sam Long, Jefferson Freeman, Lance Evans, Linda Sheridan, Arla Long, Kristian Freeman, Ashley Randall, Rollie Sauer, and Lani Lago. All of you worked tirelessly and cheerfully.

We have so much gratitude to everyone mentioned here – and to ALL donors to OIEF. Your continued support means the world to students and staff at our public schools. Thank you – thank you!
