||| FROM DAVID TURNOY |||
Thanks to the Orcas community for making our Indian Canoe Journey guests feel very welcome. Although there were a few hiccups, like having to close the welcoming ceremony to the public due to a COVID spike among the staff at Camp Orkila and a six hour wait for the ferry for the canoe ground crews coming from San Juan to Orcas, overall the event was a big success.
On Thursday many of the group came with me to receive a tour of the Glenwood Springs Fish Hatchery and went on a trip up to Mt. Constitution. In the afternoon our native guests presented some stories at the Village Green that were well-received.
We are hopeful that this event can be repeated when hopefully the public can attend all the events. I know that our guests would like to come here again.
Many people and organizations had a part in the success of this event, and I will attempt to thank them here.
